Kid-friendly and wine hour every day of the week.
Chicago has a special place in my heart. That’s the city where I met and fell in love with my husband. Needless to say, we love to get away on the weekends and go to Chicago.
I’ve been in all different hotels in downtown Chicago and honestly, whichever hotel you decide to stay that’s close to Michigan Ave, or the so-called Magnificent Mile is a great place to spend your vacation.
A few weeks ago our family spent the weekend in Chicago and stayed at the Kimpton Palomar as a late celebration for my 32nd birthday.
I have to say, every time we stay at any Kimpton hotels, we have an incredible time. I love that all of their hotels have a wine hour from 5 pm to 6 pm and it’s free! I’m also always impressed by the cleanliness, hotel decor, and hospitality.
The Kimpton has three different hotels in downtown Chicago. We chose to stay at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar because they have an indoor pool and we wanted to be closer to Water Tower Place, Nordstrom, and Eataly Italian marketplace. Our boys love swimming, so we usually try to book hotels with indoor pools. There’s nothing like taking the kids for a dip before bedtime. Oh, I forgot to mention. The Palomar is super kid-friendly too. Many kid features are available upon requests such as sound machine, baby bathtub, and outlet covers. The hotel concierge can also arrange for you to have a stroller or bouncy seat if you need it.
If there’s one thing that my husband I love doing to do when we travel, it is to eat out. We LOVE eating out and trying new restaurants. The Kimpton Palomar has a great restaurant bar on the first floor called Sable Kitchen + Bar. We ate breakfast there on Sunday, and all of our meals were delicious.
As always, we had a wonderful stay and an enjoyable time with our family in Chicago. Rapha didn’t want to leave. He wanted to stay for four more days 🙂
