Maternity Leggings for a Comfortable Pregnancy

by Gabrielle Loomis April 24, 2017
written by Gabrielle Loomis

What I am wearing: Leggings here / Adidas Stan Smith here (20%  OFF right now)

If you have been following me on Instagram (@colormesassy) you know I took a little break from Social Media. I had family visiting us from Brazil and all I wanted was to spend quality time with them. That was the most important thing to me since I don’t get to see my family all the time. Now that everybody is back home, and  I’m excited to share some great content with you!

I have a confession to make. I have been eating so much during this second pregnancy it’s crazy. It doesn’t help that we ate out a lot when my family was here and I didn’t make very good choices. I actually gained 15 pounds in 3 months! Crazy, right? I think it’s a lot since I am a tiny person. But you know what, that’s okay. This week my hubby and I will be hitting the gym a lot and eating healthier. I am glad I have him to help motivate me to eat better and exercise more.

I am glad that I have these maternity leggings, which help to make a more comfortable pregnancy, especially after all the weight I put on these past few months. These maternity leggings are from a brand called Preggo Leggings. They are extremely comfortable and I love the detail on the legs (also called motto leggings). I prefer to wear leggings during pregnancy and occasionally maternity jeans. Leggings are much more comfortable to wear and easier to put on and take off, especially with a big baby bump. I would definitely check out the Preggo Leggings if you are looking for a nice pair. Preggo Leggings also other colors of leggings and normal leggings, not this motto kind.

Have a wonderful week, loves!

The Hottest Sneakers of the Season

by Gabrielle Loomis April 10, 2017
written by Gabrielle Loomis

Heeelloo friends!

Who is excited about the warm weather? This past weekend here in the Midwest was sunny, warm and beautiful. People were outside fixing their yard, and walking their dogs. We had breakfast outside one day and took Rapha to the park. It’s incredible how the weather can change your mood. Those sunny days were so good for me. I feel so much happier and motivated to get out and do things! I’ve been having crazy mood swings lately and having anxiety about the new baby. I am a little scared of how Rapha is going to react to the arrival of his baby brother, and how busy I am going to be taking care of two kiddos. I know that at the end everything is going to be fine. Have any mamas out there felt the same way? Would love to hear your experience!

Anyhow, I came across those Stan Smith sneakers from Adidas and they were on sale. I couldn’t let this deal pass since I was dying to get a pair for myself. They are still on sale for $60 at Nordstroms (link on the shoes bellow). I am crazy about sneakers and I wear them on a daily basis. They can be very stylish and comfortable at the same time. There’s really no wrong way to wear them! If you wear jeans, wear them cropped or cut off, giving more focus to the shoes. Don’t be afraid to pair your sneakers with a casual dress or skirt. You just have to dare to try them with different outfits.

I have selected a few of the hottest sneakers of this season that you guys will love!

Adidas Stan Smith

New Balance Sneaker

Nike Sneaker

Adidas Gazelle Sneaker

Have a wonderful week, loves!

6 Spring Favorites Under $50!

by Gabrielle Loomis April 5, 2017
written by Gabrielle Loomis

Hi loooves! Phew, I’ve had a really busy week last week. My brother is in town from Brazil – YAY – and so far we’ve taken him to some of our favorite restaurants and a basketball game. The weather hasn’t been great but I see warm temperatures in the future and no rain! I am looking forward to do some fun outdoor things and take my brother to downtown Milwaukee to explore the city.

Spring is one of my favorite seasons to go shopping! It’s just so exciting to put away the winter coat and shop for sandals, and summer dresses. I do a lot of online shopping, especially in the winter. My son is at that age where he doesn’t want to sit in his stroller, making shopping a little difficult.

Above are some of my spring favorites items under $50!

Flower Embroidered Jeans

Off the Shoulder Embroidered Dress

Suede Wedges

Off the Shoulder Crochet Lace Dress

Striped T-shirt Dress

Have a wonderful week, babes!

Two Ways to Style a Chambray Shirt with a Dress

by Gabrielle Loomis March 29, 2017
written by Gabrielle Loomis

Helloooo new week! Today I want to show you two ways to style a chambray shirt with a dress. When you are pregnant you have to think of creative ways to style your bump! I love embracing my baby pump and showing it off by wearing fitted clothes, especially dresses. A chambray shirt is a great outwear to use on mild days. It is so easy to carry along and you can usually throw it over anything. I like wearing a chambray shirt open or tied up above the pump. This floral dress is from Pink Blush, I got it in medium because I loved the pattern and the store didn’t have it in small. Pink Blush has a wide variety of not only maternity clothes but regular clothes as well.

If you are on the hunt for some really cute dresses I would definitely check out Pink Blush. Let me know what you guys think!

PS: I am running a GIVEAWAY with Pink Blush and it ends TONIGHT! To enter, head over to my Instagram page (@colormesassy) and look for the photo with the giveaway. Follow me and PinkBlush (@shoppinkblush) and tag a friend! The winner will win a $75 shopping spree!

Maternity Dress from Pink Blush

by Gabrielle Loomis March 20, 2017
written by Gabrielle Loomis

Finding what to wear when you are pregnant can be challenging. You want to look pretty and stylish while carrying that extra weight. I recently discovered a great maternity store called Pink Blush. Pink Blush has maternity dresses for every shape and taste. I personally think it’s so pretty and a little sexy to wear fitted dresses to show your bump. This navy blue “striped” maternity dress caught my eyes when I saw it because of the colors and subtle stripes.

I am wearing this cute maternity dress in size small. This dress is very comfortable and versatile. You can wear it for a night out with a pair of heels and a leather jacket, or you can wear it with sandals on a beach day. I am definitely taking this dress to Hilton Head, SC next month. Did I mention I am going there at the end of April? Recommendations are appreciated, thanks!!

Anyways, sizes are running out fast. If you know a mama to be who would like this post, share it with her :).

Have a wonderful week, loves.

Super Mom, Super Tired: Maternity Pajamas

by Gabrielle Loomis March 14, 2017
written by Gabrielle Loomis

There is nothing better than wearing the most comfortable pajamas during and after pregnancy. After all, us moms and moms to be, don’t have a very good night of sleep during this period. First, because that baby inside of us is growing, moving around,  and giving us uncomfortable nights of sleep. After we give birth, we spend the next year getting up at night to breastfeed our sweet baby. I think that having the perfect maternity pajamas will help you feel good and comfortable at night, and honestly, during the day too.

I was fortunate to receive those maternity pajamas from You! Lingerie to help me get through the night. Because hey, anything that can help you get through this, is very welcome! One of the things that I love the most about those pajamas is the high quality of the fabric. All cups are lined with 100% cotton for ultimate comfort. I can seriously live in those pajamas all day. The other thing I love about those pajamas is that the top is made to help breastfeed. It has nursing clips so you can easily open and close the bras. The pants also have drawstrings on the bottom to make them shorter. I am wearing size small and I think it fits me perfectly. The only thing I am going to do is a little hemming on the bottom of the pants. I am only 5’2 and some of my pants have to be hemmed 🙂

“SUPER MOM SUPER TIRED” is the truest phrase I’ve ever heard and I think we all moms can relate to that. Get this “Super Mom Super Tired” pajamas in blue here.

You! Lingerie also sells bras, panties, tanks, and other sleepwear. Check out their other products here.

Daily Strolls with our Evenflo Pivot Travel System

by Gabrielle Loomis March 13, 2017
written by Gabrielle Loomis

Where we live, we are only a 10-minute walk to cute shops, parks, cafe’s and restaurants. To make our daily walks easy and comfortable, a good stroller is key!

I was very excited when Evenflo contacted me to try their Pivot Travel System. Not only this travel system will be great to use when our new baby is here, but  I am familiar with the brand and I love their products.

Ever since I received this Evenflo stroller, my son Rapha has been obsessed with “playing” with it. He loves crawling into the storage area or just sitting in the bassinet. Even though this Evenflo stroller is for our new baby coming in July, I’ve been taking our son for walks in this stroller.

Here is a little review on this system. The Pivot Travel System is the perfect stroller for any newborn baby to 2 years of age or up to 50 pounds. This system comes with an infant car seat and base, a bassinet, and the frame to attach either the car seat or bassinet. I am extremely excited about the bassinet, that is one of the main features that attracted me to this stroller. The bassinet can lay flat for new born babies or transform into a toddler seat, in an upright position. As the baby grows I can turn him facing forward or backwards.

Another feature I love about this stroller is the storage basket, it’s huge!! Our current stroller doesn’t have as nearly as much space as this one. Now I will be able to easily fit Rapha’s diaper bag and other things. The canopy is another great feature on this stroller. It gives full coverage so the baby doesn’t get any sun on his face.

Slowly it has been getting warmer here in Wisconsin and I am just excited to get outside and go on our daily walks. Now let’s just hope that Rapha won’t be jealous of the new baby using this stroller.

Check out Evenflo’s website for more details on this Pivot Travel System as well as other products.

Our Etsy store: Sambasol Outfitters

by Gabrielle Loomis March 10, 2017
written by Gabrielle Loomis

It’s been a while since I posted about our Etsy store: Sambasol Outfitters. My husband and I created an online store through Etsy about 8 months ago. We started out by selling Brazilian bikinis and round sarongs (two very popular things in Brazil). Jason and I always wanted to create something uniquely ours that we could put our thinking caps on and creatively work together.

This week we were excited to add two new items to our inventory: SAMBA shirt, and PINEAPPLE tank. We want to sell t-shirts to our customers with the most flattering and high-quality fabric. Those shirts definitely have those attributes.

I hope you guys love them as much as we do. After all, it’s all about giving our customers the best!

I am offering my followers 15% OFF your purchase of any item between now and March 31st! CODE: SASSYSAMBA15

SHOP SAMBASOL OUTFITTERS HERE

Have a wonderful weekend loves!

Casual “Preggo” Outfit

by Gabrielle Loomis March 7, 2017
written by Gabrielle Loomis

Similar Loft Jeans here / Similar Loft Sweater here / Steve Madden Peep Toe Booties

I am a big fan of wearing leggings. Especially now that I am pregnant, that’s all I wear every day. This weekend I decided to try on a few of my old jeans to see if any of them fit me. Luckily I found one non-maternity pair that my legs slid through, haha. I was happy to switch it up a little bit and wear some jeans for a change. This casual “preggo” outfit was the perfect wear to walk around town and get a coffee. Even though I am wearing taller booties, these Steve Madden peep toe boots are so comfortable that I don’t mind walking around in them.

Baby boy has been growing strong and now I feel that I won’t be able to hide the bump for much longer (not that I am trying to).

Have a wonderful week, loves!

xoxo, Gabrielle

Baby Girl or Boy? We are having…

by Gabrielle Loomis February 20, 2017
written by Gabrielle Loomis

Personally, one of the most exciting things about being pregnant is to find out if you are having a baby girl or boy. As I mentioned in my previous blog post, this weekend we had a little brunch for the reveal party to find out the sex of our new baby. I wish I had taken photos to show you how it went, but I was too busy with the festivities :). A family friend was the only person who knew what we were having. She baked some amazing cupcakes for us with a color for the gender inside. After brunch, everybody at the party was anxious to eat the cupcakes. After brunch, we gave each person a cupcake to have a bite at the same time. We did a countdown and each person had a bite of the cupcake. Everybody was surprised to see the blue filling! Yes, blue! We are having another boy! I am going to be outnumbered at home, I am going to be surrounded by boys, haha! We are so thrilled that Rapha will have a baby brother to play with. Now the hard part it…what should we name him?

Agora a parte difícil é… qual nome damos à ele?

5 non-maternity dresses & 19-week update

by Gabrielle Loomis February 14, 2017
written by Gabrielle Loomis

I am getting very close to being half away through my pregnancy, yay! That’s why I decided I should do a 19-week update so you all know what’s happening with me and baby.

Next Saturday, I reach the 20-week mark and you know what that means, right? That means that this week I get to see my baby through an ultrasound and we get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. Since both my husband and I are very anxious people, we are going to find out the gender on Saturday with a reveal party. With our first baby, Raphael, we did the same thing. We had a party where we ate cupcakes that were filled with blue frosting. I think this is a very fun way to find out the gender. My husband is convinced we are having a girl, but I don’t have any guesses. This pregnancy has been very similar to my first one: no sickness, mood swings here and there, salty cravings, same energy level. What’s been really different about this time around is that I’ve been working out more than the first time. I’ve been going to the gym 3-4 times a week to stay strong and fit for the months to come.

Like with the first pregnancy, I didn’t buy a lot of maternity clothes. This time, I am doing the same thing. I’ve been buying clothes that I can wear both now and after the baby is born. This dress is non-maternity but the fabric is very stretchy and perfect to show the bump.

I linked 5 non-maternity dresses that you can wear both pregnant and after baby.

1. Nordstrom: Leith Ruched Long Sleeve Dress

2. Nordstrom: Show me Your Mumu Off-the-shoulder Dress

3. Nordstrom: Leith Bodycon Tank Dress

4. Nordstrom: Free People Mini Dress

5. Nordstrom: Billabong Bodycon Midi Dress

Have a wonderful week, loves!
