A Day at Kohler-Andrae State Park

by Gabrielle Loomis May 5, 2020
written by Gabrielle Loomis

And just like that, we went from a warm weekend wearing shorts to this week wearing winter jackets.

It felt pretty amazing to wear a bikini and actually get a little tan last weekend. We went to Kohler-Andrae State Park beach to spend the day and let the kids play on the sand. I must say it was a perfect day! We didn’t know what to expect since I had never been to Kohler-Andrae before, and my husband was there a few times when he was younger. There isn’t must beach left since the water level has gone up, but there’s still room to sit. We set up a small beach tent, and we let the kids play with the water and sand. They had a blast and didn’t want to leave. The one thing I wish we had done was to go on the dunes.

If you have never been to Kohler-Andrae, I would say it’s a must go. The view of Lake Michigan is stunning; there’re trails to hike, and you can also camp. I do have to warn you that the public restrooms are closed for now because of the pandemic.

Now let me quickly tell you about my beach outfit.

I wore for the first time the Aztecs print bikini from my Etsy store Sambasol Outfitters. This bikini is fantastic and one of my favorites from this Summer collection. For reference, I’m wearing a size Medium. I bought those shorts at Evereve online, and they did not disappoint. I’m wearing my true size of 26. Those shorts are high-waisted, and not so short, which I prefer.

Here are a few other bikinis from my Etsy Store.

I hope last weekend was sunny and warm where you guys live!

Neutral Outfit Featuring Abercrombie Pieces

by Gabrielle Loomis April 20, 2020
written by Gabrielle Loomis

I recently bought this cropped tie-front cami and linen-blend pants from Abercrombie when they were 50% off. I was very excited about these two neutral pieces, and when they arrived in the mail, they were even better than I thought. I ordered the cami in small instead of my usual size of xs. This cami feels very, very soft, and the brown tone is beautiful. The nice thing about neutral pieces is that you can get so much use out of them. For instance, I also bought a midi-skirt from Abercrombie with the colors green and white, with little flowers that also looks beautiful with this cami. If you don’t own high-waisted bottoms and don’t feel comfortable with cropped tops, this cami may not be for you.

Now, let’s talk about those linen-blend pants. I love linen, but the material always gets very wrinkled. Because those pants are linen-blend, they don’t wrinkle as much as far as I noticed. Those pants are so much better than I expected. They fit A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, and you can adjust the waist with the adjustable tabs. Those pants have a wide-leg silhouette making them suitable for any body type. I’m bought those linen-blend pants in my standard bottom size of small.

To add some charm to this outfit, I thew some fun summer accessories: straw hat, rattan circled bag, colorful “candy” bracelets, and a set of three necklaces that comes in a mix of metals, including a sun coin charm, a chunky herringbone chain and a locket for wearing layered or solo.

When the weather warms up, this is going to be my go-to weekend outfit!

5 Ways to Style Mules this Spring

by Gabrielle Loomis April 6, 2020
written by Gabrielle Loomis

Hi guys! I hope everyone is staying at home and healthy. With all this time spending at home, I’ve been wearing a lot of loungewear. Though, once in a while, I like dressing up for the day because it helps me to stay productive and not lazy. Today I am showing you 5 ways to style mules this Spring. Mules are so fun to style and so easy to slip-on.

The mules I’m styling today and comfortable and have a subtle woven design. They come in 3 colors: cognac, gold, and black, and are only $25. If you are not sure if you like mules, this pair is a great way to start. Start with an inexpensive pair.

I styled those mules in a variety of ways: girly with a floral top, casual with a sweater, cozy wearing a jumpsuit and cardi, and edgy with a graphic tee and blazer.
I hope this video gives you some inspiration.

My Visit to Cameron’s Coffee Headquarters and a big announcement

by Gabrielle Loomis March 18, 2020
written by Gabrielle Loomis

At the beginning of this month, we drove to Minnesota to visit the headquarters of Cameron’s Coffee. I can’t tell you enough how cool it was to meet the passionate people behind this brand that I’ve been working with for the past year. My hubby went with me, and we were welcomed with open arms. We were able to participate in a coffee cupping session for the first time, which was an incredible experience. If you’ve never heard of coffee cupping before, it’s basically the process of evaluating the tastes and aromas of numerous brewed coffee samples to develop new blends.  We met with the Marketing Manager and the Roastmaster (THE MAN behind the delicious coffee we drink everyday) for a cupping session, followed by a tour of Cameron’s warehouse, including the green storage facility. The green storage facility is where all the coffee is stored (in its original “green” format) before it is roasted. It was so cool to be surrounded by so much coffee!

Over the past year, I’ve loved being able to partner with Cameron’s to share my favorite blends, tips and real-life coffee moments with you all. That’s why I’m so excited to announce that we’ll be partnering together again this year to bring you even more of that! I’m so thankful to work with a company that trusts the work that I do and allows me to share that work with my followers.

Where to Stay in Chicago – Magnificent Mile

by Gabrielle Loomis February 10, 2020
written by Gabrielle Loomis

Kid-friendly and wine hour every day of the week.

Chicago has a special place in my heart. That’s the city where I met and fell in love with my husband. Needless to say, we love to get away on the weekends and go to Chicago.

I’ve been in all different hotels in downtown Chicago and honestly, whichever hotel you decide to stay that’s close to Michigan Ave, or the so-called Magnificent Mile is a great place to spend your vacation.

A few weeks ago our family spent the weekend in Chicago and stayed at the Kimpton Palomar as a late celebration for my 32nd birthday.

I have to say, every time we stay at any Kimpton hotels, we have an incredible time. I love that all of their hotels have a wine hour from 5 pm to 6 pm and it’s free! I’m also always impressed by the cleanliness, hotel decor, and hospitality.

The Kimpton has three different hotels in downtown Chicago. We chose to stay at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar because they have an indoor pool and we wanted to be closer to Water Tower Place, Nordstrom, and Eataly Italian marketplace. Our boys love swimming, so we usually try to book hotels with indoor pools. There’s nothing like taking the kids for a dip before bedtime. Oh, I forgot to mention. The Palomar is super kid-friendly too. Many kid features are available upon requests such as sound machine, baby bathtub, and outlet covers. The hotel concierge can also arrange for you to have a stroller or bouncy seat if you need it.

If there’s one thing that my husband I love doing to do when we travel, it is to eat out. We LOVE eating out and trying new restaurants. The Kimpton Palomar has a great restaurant bar on the first floor called Sable Kitchen + Bar. We ate breakfast there on Sunday, and all of our meals were delicious.

As always, we had a wonderful stay and an enjoyable time with our family in Chicago. Rapha didn’t want to leave. He wanted to stay for four more days 🙂

Dainty Gold Jewelry

by Gabrielle Loomis January 27, 2020
written by Gabrielle Loomis

Guys, I love my dainty gold jewelry. They are my favorite to wear every day, and they pretty much go with everything I wear. This St. Christopher necklace never leaves my neck. Even though its not 100 percent gold, so I shouldn’t wear it in the shower, I still do, the quality remains the same. I literally never take this necklace off. When I go out, I add a few more chains for a more “dramatic” sexy look.

SHOP MY JEWELRY

Right before Christmas, I got these beautiful pearly earrings from Mejuri. They are beautiful, but I don’t wear them every day. I only wear them when I go out or on special occasions.

I recently went to Evereve, and I found a pack of stud earrings – 4 pairs of for $22. I haven’t worn any earrings on my second hole in years, and I wasn’t even sure if the holes were still open. Right there in the store, I tried fitting a pair of earrings, and guess what? They went in, and I happily bought the pack of earrings with no regrets.

So that’s the rundown of some of my favorite gold dainty jewelry 🙂

Tie-Dye is Back!

by Gabrielle Loomis January 20, 2020
written by Gabrielle Loomis

4 Ways to Style and Tips on How to Ease Into the Trend.

Tie-dye is back, and it’s a major trend this coming Spring and Summer. To be clear, I don’t always follow fashion trends just because everyone else is. I like to stay true to myself.

Anyways, I love seeing the modern spin that designers have made with tie-dye garments. No more 60’s hippie vibes…maybe just a little.

This tie-dye ombre sweatshirt is THE BEST thing ever! The colors are beautiful, and the fit is just the way I like it: loose. I spotted this sweatshirt at my local Evereve Store. I think as soon as I saw this sweatshirt, I grabbed right away. Even before trying it on, I knew that I was going to buy this sweatshirt.

HERE ARE 4 WAYS TO STYLE THIS TIE-DYE OMBRE SWEATSHIRT:

  1. Number one and my favorite way to wear this sweatshirt is with leggings and sneakers. In this case, I’m wearing it with my camo Spanks. I intended to take pictures with black leggings, but I forgot them at home the day I took pictures.
  2. Another great way to wear this sweatshirt is with straight-leg ripped jeans and sneakers if you want a cool and edgy vibe.
  3. If you are easing your way into the trend, wearing a denim jacket over this sweatshirt is a great way to do it. Again, pair it with sneakers and jeans to make this tie-dye look cool.
  4. This sweatshirt is begging for summer! I can’t wait to wear it with distressed shorts and birks over a bonfire.

Below, you can shop my entire outfit by clicking on the image. I liked a few different styles and different price points. My sneaks are on sale, they are true to size and very comfortable. Those camo spanks are amazing and the colors are very subtle.

How do you feel about this trend? Would you wear it right away or do you need some time to ease into it?

I LOVE basic pieces I can wear on the weekends when I want to dress down but still look put together. I recently bought quite a few tops from Evereve that I can easily wear with jeans and sneakers, or dress it up with booties and a jacket.

The tops I’m sharing with you today are basic yet super cute and will make you look put together when you don’t feel like dressing up.

I’m literally obsessed with this zebra top. I’ve worn many times already because it’s super cute and looks effortless with jeans and booties.
